Epic Games took to the @FortniteStatus Twitter account to announce a period of game downtime this morning (10th January) to fix several issues, including a glitch with the recently-added Shockwave Hammer. The patch was successful, and the servers are now back online.
The Shockwave Hammer was added in the Chapter 4 update last month and quickly became a fan-favorite. Unfortunately, it had an easily exploitable glitch that allowed players to remove its cooldown period. To prevent further exploits, the hammer was removed from the game ('vaulted', as the kids say). The patch set out to fix this issue and succeeded in doing so.
Other minor issues were also addressed in the patch. A bug that caused players to be invisible while using the Shadow Stones was fixed, as well as a glitch that allowed players to use the Bouncer, trap more than once. The patch also made some adjustments to the Storm King LTM, and players can now find the familiar Cram Session and Catch! achievement challenges.
The patch was successful in fixing the Shockwave Hammer glitch and other issues. Players can now enjoy the game without worrying about the exploits and can also take on the familiar challenges which have been reintroduced to the game. With more updates and patches coming soon, Fortnite should remain a fun and exciting experience for everyone.
